This was the first post of The Inspired Word blog, exactly three years ago. It's a video of poet Gabrielle "Gabby" Bouliane. This is Gabrielle's final spoken word performance. It took place on Dec. 9, 2009 in Austin. She died of a rare form of cancer around two months later, in late January 2010, at just 43 years old. The power of this piece continues to move me, as I'm sure it will move you. The Inspired Word blog is dedicated to her. May she rest in peace.
