Singer/Songwriter Jenna Maranga @ Mike Geffner Presents The Inspired Word
Singer/Songwriter Jenna Maranga @ Mike Geffner Presents The Inspired Word NYC spoken word poetry event, Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, (Le) Poisson Rouge, Manhattan, NYC.
Barefoot and usually draped in a floral gown, Maranga utilizes her dark melodies and minimalist acoustics to whisk away an audience to a bygone era of musical purity. Currently a student at New York University's Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, Jenna has just begun to perform on the beautifully chaotic streets of New York City as if they were the wooden porches of her backyard.
The Inspired Word is New York City's hottest new poetry/spoken word series, produced by longtime writer/journalist and former Village Voice columnist Mike Geffner and hosted by Erik "Advocate of Wordz" Maldonado. Past features have included such superstar performance poets as Patricia Smith, Suheir Hammad, Willie Perdomo, Vanessa Hidary, Lemon Andersen, Gemineye, and Oveous Maximus.
