Creighton Blinn - Poem "Repeat, As Necessary"

Repeat, As Necessary by Creighton Blinn

Start with a smile flashed.
Then, a look exchanged,
A heart a-flutter,
Perhaps a leisurely dinner or walk through the park,
Either may serve as the setting for a long conversation
Wherein histories, favorite books & all sorts of sundry topics are discussed . . .
Next, if you are not careful,
False assumptions may be formed,
Leading to conclusions jumped,
And a series of misunderstandings,
Which result in tears and self-berating.
Finally, a period of recovery,
Ending in a glance caught across a room . . .

Creighton Blinn is a poet living in New Yor City.
